Will the Official Receiver or Trustee help me get my bankruptcy annulled?

The Official Receiver or Trustee in Bankruptcy cannot provide legal or financial advice to the bankrupt.

He is not allowed to recommend any particular firm or organisation where you may be able to obtain independent advice. He may issue you with a booklet entitled "Can my bankruptcy be cancelled" and may refer you to your local area Yellow Pages for a list of insolvency advisors, however, they may not necessarily specialise in this complex area of the law.

His primary duty is to act for the benefit of creditors and to maximise the return to them by selling the bankrupt’s assets.
