Re10 took just 10 days to dispose of Shilpa Shetty's Indian Restaurant Chain: Bombay Bicycle Club & Tiffinbites
The beleaguered Indian restaurant chain V8 Gourmet Group - 30% owned by Bollywood actress and Big Brother star Shilpa Shetty - was bought by an undisclosed purchaser on the 22nd June, just 10 days after Nimish Patel and Finbarr O'Connell, from London based turn-around specialist Re10 were appointed Administrators.
The V8 Gourmet Group was bought by an undisclosed purchaser for an undisclosed sum, which included all trading sites, as well as the concessions in Harrods and Selfridges. In finding a suitable buyer for the Group Re10 has secured the future of 264 employees and the restaurant and takeaway sites in the group. The purchaser will continue to trade the business.
Joint Administrator, Nimish Patel of Re10 comments: “From the time Re10 was appointed as administrators on 13th June, our prime concern was to secure the future of the business, including its 264 members of staff, which we thankfully did, just 10 days later.”
His joint supervisor Finbarr O’Connell commented: “I never thought that V8 was a very lucky name for a company as it was the make of car that Bonnie & Clyde were driving when they got shot up. However, the new purchaser is now firmly in the saddle and hopefully proving that 2 wheels are luckier than 4.”
The V8 Gourmet Group owned and operated the restaurant chains Bombay Bicycle Club, Tiffinbites, the restaurant and catering chain VAMA, as well as the airline catering arm Khana by VAMA and Silk Events.
